Aluminium coping system on brick parapet wall

Step by Step Coping Installation Guide

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Proper installation is key to maximising the benefits of aluminium copings and cappings. In this section, we will provide a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to install these elements effectively. From initial preparation and measurements to securing the copings and cappings in place, our instructions will ensure a seamless installation process, enabling you to achieve outstanding results and durability.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide:

1. Preparation:

  • Ensure the parapet wall surface is clean and free from debris.
  • Take accurate measurements of the wall length to choose the appropriate length from our website's drop-down list range.

2. Bracket Installation:

  • Install a steel sub-bracket onto the plywood grounds covering the parapet wall cavity.
  • Secure the sub-bracket using screws, ensuring it is firmly attached.

3. Coping Attachment:

  • Position the copings onto the sub-bracket, aligning them with the top edge of the parapet wall.
  • The copings are designed to be clipped onto the bracket at the front and fixed through the back.
  • Secure the copings to the bracket using screws provided.

4. Neoprene Installation:

  • The sub-bracket comes with factory-fitted neoprene to minimise noise in windy conditions.
  • Ensure the neoprene is properly positioned and secured on the sub-bracket.
5. Waterproofing:
  • The copings are not sealed. Instead, a waterproof membrane is placed below the bracket, on top of the plywood, to prevent water ingress.

6. Maintenance:

  • Regularly inspect the copings and bracket for any signs of damage or loose fittings.
  • Clean the copings periodically to remove dirt or debris, ensuring they maintain their appearance.

Note: When installing aluminium copings and cappings, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's specific instructions and consult with professionals to ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

By following these adjusted step-by-step instructions, you can confidently install our made-to-measure aluminium copings and cappings. The use of the steel sub-bracket, clips, and screws provides a secure and reliable attachment method while maintaining structural integrity and waterproofing.
